‘The rediscovery of ancient wisdom’
Swedish Linseed Paint is the sole UK distributor of the Allbäck high quality range of plastic free linseed oil paints and other products. Grown and produced in Sweden, these products are created using traditional recipes and natural ingredients used for Swedish building maintenance and conservation since the 16th Century. With modern technology they are now produced affordably and have been used across the globe for over 40 years to renovate and restore many buildings with love. These include numerous important historic buildings such as the Château de Versailles in France, Amalienborg the Danish royal residences in Copenhagen, and closer to home, both The Holkham Estate in Norfolk and most recently Norwich Castle.
Benefits Of Linseed Oil Paint
LONG LASTING
Allbäck Linseed Paints last up to 3 times longer than modern paints. Not only will the subtle paint colours decorate your building and woodwork beautifully, but the linseed oil in the paint gives protection and nourishment to the surface itself. Particularly for woodwork, this penetration helps protect the timber from the inside out.
COST EFFECTIVE
With their excellent coverage and dramatically longer life span, Allbäck Linseed Paints will yield significant cost savings over time. It is a single pot-paint system that is simple to use and avoids wastage.
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY
Allbäck Linseed Paints are made from natural 100% pure linseed oil, derived from renewable and sustainable resources. The paint is free of plastic and carries the highest environmental ranking from Swedish Authorities including the BVB and SundaHus.
NON-TOXIC
All Allbäck Linseed Products are made using cold pressed, cleaned and sterilised linseed oil with natural pigments and no added solvents or turpentine meaning they have an extremely low VOC content. Turpentine is not required due to the high linoleic acid content and quality of the processed linseed oil grown in the Swedish climatic conditions. Zinc oxide can be added as a natural insecticide and fungicide, common in many modern environmentally friendly paints. We supply zinc separately so that it can be added depending on client preference and the specific project needs.
